March 19, 2016

God is so good to us. All He asks is that we love and trust Him and put Him first in all we do. We would not be here at Aging With Grace without Him. He has provided for us financially, emotionally, physically, and socially. Each day is a blessing of resting in His care and providence. If He wants this business of caring for seniors to succeed, it will. If He does not, it won’t. So far we are okay, but it is a daily walk of faith. We need more people to become members of the club, but God knows that. I love the new song by

    Trust In You

from the album How Can It Be

Letting go of every single dream
I lay each one down at Your feet

    Every moment of my wondering
    Never changes what You see

I’ve tried to win this war I confess
My hands are weary I need Your rest
Mighty Warrior King of the fight
No matter what I face You’re by my side

    (chorus)
When You don’t move the mountains
    I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust
    I will trust in You

Truth is You know what tomorrow brings
There’s not a day ahead You have not seen
So in all things be my life and breath
I want what You want Lord and nothing less

    (chorus)
When You don’t move the mountains
    I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust
    I will trust in You
    I will trust in You

    (bridge)
You are my strength and comfort
    You are my steady hand
    You are my firm foundation
The Rock on which I stand
    Your ways are always higher
    Your plans are always good
    There’s not a place where I’ll go
    You’ve not already stood

    (chorus)
When You don’t move the mountains
    I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust
    I will trust in You
    I will trust in You
    I will trust in You
    I will trust in You

Last week I delivered goodie bags to different entities that touch the lives of seniors, and I also conducted two St. Patrick’s Day activities at local senior housing complexes. We had fun making fortune tellers and playing a game with them, giving away prizes, and eating snacks. My art teacher background came in handy there. I met several people who would benefit from what we have to offer at Aging With Grace, and I hope they are able to make their way here, because without us, they are headed for a nursing home in the near future. I want to learn how to make it easy for them to come here and stay in their current apartments. They seemed very happy living there. To move from having one’s own space to sharing a room in a noisy nursing home environment would be tragic. How much better for them to come to the club during the day and have medical supervision and health improvement, a good breakfast, dinner at noon, and a snack at Tea and a Tale Time, and then go home sometime between 4:00 — 6:00 daily. They might still need some intervention at home to help them get an evening meal together (something light would be sufficient after our big meal at noon) and to help them get ready for bed, and then to help them get up and out in the morning. We can give showers here, if necessary. Even with the addition of a paid caregiver at the home, and an extra charge for showers here at the club, Aging With Grace would still be a lot less expensive than nursing home care.

We are offering a very attractive incentive package for people who refer a new member to the club. If you are interested, please call me:   859 539 2147

May you and yours have a blessed first week of Spring!
