We love you, and we hope you will get the kind of care we see demonstrated here if you live to reach an age when you need a little help to have a good life.
Here at Aging With Grace, we see love in action when we see caregivers drop off and come to pick up the one they are caring for each day.
It is not easy to be a caregiver. It may mean having to help dress, bath, brush teeth (or care for dentures), comb and cut hair, (and shave too, if a man) plus do all the chores necessary to run a household—or find and employ someone else to do it in the home. Sometimes the one in need of care also needs help eating and toileting. Then the one needing care may need help to get into the car, and then out of the car when they arrive at Aging With Grace.
What sacrifice, what selflessness, what humility, what love! Sound a little like someone else we celebrate today?
We do our best to be our member’s caregiver’s substitute, and we love each member as if they were our own family, but the one in need of care never wants to leave their caregiver, and they visibly light up when they return.
I know the caregivers will be blessed with the happy memories that come from knowing they did the right thing; that they did their best to love and honor their parent/spouse/loved one.
What a sweet feeling we get as we watch the caregiver and the one needing care interact!
May you and yours be blessed this coming week!
