My mother in law turns 92 on Monday, and my grandson turns 4. We are going to have a party for both of them next weekend. We would have had it this weekend, but there was a conflict with the other side of our grandson’s family. My almost 84 year old father says he can’t make it because his class reunion is that day too. “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”—John Lydgate
We could have the party at the club if my mother in law wasn’t bedridden. The club seats 40 people in one room easily. It is great for showing videos and slides of family memories on the big screen television, too. The club is available for event rentals to members, too.
We have an ongoing English culture theme for the club and it would be fun to keep with the theme for her birthday party. My mother in law is almost the same age as the queen of England. Just seven months difference. And my mom in law looks similar to the queen. We purchased a crown for our female members of the club to wear on their birthday. I need to buy a crown for the men. Or make one.
September makes me think of sapphires, cornflowers and University of Kentucky blue. The students are back and we are looking forward to seeing our volunteers again. We love young people of all ages at Aging With Grace! We are a fun place for students to use and develop their skills and talents in multiple career pursuits: physical, speech, and occupational therapy; music and drama, marketing and communications, nursing, insurance, healthcare administration, business, visual art and dance, and many more I am sure I have forgotten or don’t know about.
Please come to see what Aging With Grace is all about. May God bless your week ahead!
