Addiction is a very sad reality of life. There are many things we can be addicted to, and most of them will destroy us if we allow them to. My view is, if the thing you are addicted to is your go-to instead of God, then it is not healthy. If you are trusting this ‘thing’ instead of God, then you are not going to be happy. Attempting to stay young can be an addiction. It is impossible to stay young. We may be successful in looking as if we are young but our cells will age and we will die no matter how young we look. In fact, using hormones and having surgeries may even shorten our lives. I am not saying it is bad or wrong to try to look as young as possible…that is your right if you so choose, but it may not be HEALTHY, mentally or physically, so I am not encouraging hormone treatments or surgeries to do so. I have not had any surgeries to look young and I do not take hormones. I do not even use any makeup products designed to help us look young. I do not dye my hair or wear contacts. But I do want to exercise regularly, get my sleep and eat well. That is enough of a challenge while working to grow Aging With Grace. Most days it seems that there are not enough hours in the day or energy in my body to accomplish all that needs to be done. That is where trusting God becomes a necessity. I am weak, and He is strong. He is in control, and I am not. All I can do is what I can do. I trust the rest to Him.
