November 10, 2016
We all woke up today to a new reality. My prayer is for Donald Trump to be the wise, fair, and kind leader I remember from his TV reality show, The Apprentice. I used to love to watch that show. I wanted to be a contestant on the show. The media plays a ridiculous role in shaping our views and feelings these days. I have always hated television. Of course, as a child, the choices of what to watch were very limited and the quality was lacking. I remember getting up and leaving the family group while they were watching some show because I found it boring. I would go to my room and work on a project or read. I still believe that television is the devil, even though I have learned some things from it and been entertained by it. I believe it is seductive and makes us much more sedentary than we would be without it. If it was up to me, we would not even own a television. Opposites attract. My husband is a television addict and insists on cable television with DVR capability. He throws a fit if someone or something erases his prerecorded shows.
Because I love you, I wish you would not watch much television. Just an hour a day if you are sitting or laying down to watch. Of course, if you watch while you are exercising or doing a chore, that is different. Be careful though, because as I said before, television is seductive, especially at night, and it will pull you in and capture you and hours will go by before you know it. What a waste and how bad for your health! It happened to me last night as I was watching the election results unfolding.
May God bless you and yours and may you have a wonderful rest of the week!
