December 5, 2015

Life is full of loss and surprises. That is why God wants us to draw near to Him, to cling to Him and his teaching. God never changes. People may disappoint us, but if we truly trust God, He will not let us down. He may test us, try us, but if we hold fast, He will take care of us.

The older I get, the more I am tested. I am surprised by the pains I have in my joints and I have had losses that I won’t describe here, but through it all I have trusted God to take care of me.

The good in my life far outweighs the bad. He continues to take care of me and bless me.

I am weak and foolish, but God uses weakness to show His strength, because then everyone knows it is Him who accomplishes the work.

Please watch the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, as part of your holiday traditions as a family. The ‘Clarence, the angel’ character is a little silly, but I love the moral of the story: our decisions and actions affect more than we know. In the movie, Clarence shows the main character, George Bailey (played by Jimmy Stewart), what the town and people he knew would be like if he had never been born.

May God bless you and yours this week!
