I slept with my window open last night and woke up with brain fog. I went for a walk first thing this morning thinking that would shake it off, but no. I have never thought of myself as having allergies, but after researching a little I am almost certain I am allergic to something that just bloomed. I love spring…it is my favorite season because the light is bright and the warmth feels so good after the cold. I love the songs of the mating birds and the stirrings of other creatures and the beautiful flowers. I saw four bunnies playing chase when I was walking. But I have sinus drainage and blurry vision and I feel as if I am not quite awake. I have so much to do and this brain fog is just aggravating. I went to a meeting this morning that wasn’t scheduled till next week.

The 3rd annual I Know Expo at the Lexington Center was a success yesterday, even though it was not as well attended as in past years, probably due to Keeneland, The Home and Garden Show, and other ways to spend a gorgeous afternoon. I talked with a few people who seemed to have a genuine interest in using the health club for seniors to help relieve their care giver stress. That made me happy.

I cannot wait to open. I plan to go to the business site every day from 7:00 am until 4:00 to help with the painting and other work to hopefully hasten opening day. I still have some documents to update due to our change of location (like our emergency exiting plans) but those should not take long, and I can do them on the weekends.

Last week we hired a Wellness Consultant (she cannot start until she has given two weeks notice at her current job), a Dining Director and two Club ANSRs. We still need another Wellness Consultant, two Club Planners (LPNs) and an Assistant Dining Director. Do you know of anyone who would like to work in the happiest long term care environment ever?

Hope all is well with you and yours and may your spring be allergy free!
