‘Come Join Us And Feel The Love’ is our new slogan. We show our love to our members by helping them to their best health possible through providing nutrition, face to face meaningful interactions, medical supervision and monitoring, and exercise.
The Bluegrass Aging Consortium, a gathering of about 30 professionals serving seniors in this area comes together the first Tuesday at 9am each month. Janet Greene, Director of Outreach , APDA and Kentucky Neurological Institute was our guest speaker this month. Janet was incredibly inspirational and very knowledgeable about Parkinson’s disease and research. She is passionate about finding ways to live life to the fullest and helping others with Parkinson’s do the same. You see, she has the disease herself, although a mild case for now. Janet trusts God to help her and to use the disease to bring glory to Him. I think Janet did just that last Tuesday.
I am going to speak at a gathering of about 30 people who have Parkinson’s on Monday at 1:00 at Crestwood Christian Church here in Lexington. Aging With Grace has a lot to offer people at any stage of the disease. Research has shown that exercise, particularly intense exercise with big body movements, lessens the symptoms and improve the mood of people who have Parkinson’s. Certain kinds of dancing and boxing have been studied, measured, and proven to be most beneficial to those who have Parkinson’s.
Exercise improves everyone’s health. Do you exercise regularly and with the intensity and duration necessary to improve your health? Aging With Grace has a 90 year old member who has shown measurable improvement in his strength, stamina, and balance because he exercises with us three times a week. Daily exercise would be even better. No matter how old we are, we can benefit from exercise.
Come join us and feel the love….through exercise!
May you and yours have a week blessed with good health!
